Ford wanted fresh ideas to market their new EV, the Mach-E.
The problem? It was early pandemic, and most productions were on hold. Roman Coppola and The Directors Bureau Special Projects came up with a unique collaborative process to produce a feature-length film in a socially distanced world.
Drawing inspiration from the surrealist ‘Exquisite Corpse’ technique, we created an anthology film where everything—locations, plot points, shoot dates—was assigned by the random draw of a card.
The result was The Seven Faces of Jane, an eight-part film by eight different filmmakers, with the Ford Mach-E playing a central character in each.
